Jan Presidency Message

Dear Sisters,

Happy New Year! Our Relief Society Presidency want to take this opportunity to express our love and appreciation to each of you, along with our wishes for a blessed year ahead. We hope that you have experienced the Peace of the Savior in your homes as we celebrated His birth, life and His supreme gift of love for each of us.

I wanted to include a message that came from a First Presidency Message by the late President N. Eldon Tanner in 1980. "Most of us can recall the most memorable Christmas in our mortal lives. For many of us, that Christmas was not one of expensive gifts and far away vacations. It was a time that someone gave us something of themselves or a time when we gave something of ourselves. We can learn much from the Christmases of the past and from stories of our ancestor's devotion to the Savior. We know that the Savior, continually sustains us in carrying on our efforts in His behalf. We must continually be aware that we live in a time of challenges to ourselves, our families, and our church. We can also know that the peace spoken of in the gospel comes not from material wealth but from the testimony of the mission of Jesus Christ. We want you to know that God lives and that he loves each of you for the willingness in which you serve Him. We want you to know that you are about your Father's business and that is the greatest gift that could be shared with Him."

I bear my humble testimony that the Savior guides the work of his restored church on the earth today. I know He lives and loves us. I am so grateful that Joseph Smith prayed to know which of the churches was true and was valiant in the restoration of Christ's true church. I am so grateful for the direction that
the Lord provided for us in these times contained in the preserved records of the ancient prophets, The Book of Mormon. Let us each "press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men."(2 Nephi 31:20). Let us be steadfast in serving Him and continue exercise our confidence in Him , that He will bless us as a people and as individuals.
